The Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company serves the Borough of Mount Pocono and Paradise Township. These communities are located in the heart of the Pocono Mountain Resort area of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company is 100% volunteer. Members attend weekly training sessions and respond to fire and emergency calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The fire company is made up of five different membership types:

Active Members respond to calls, training drills and meetings. They also run the fire company's only fund raising event the Pocono Mountain Carnival .

Life Members are Active members who have served in the fire company for 25 years or more.

Intern (Junior) Members are young people (ages 16 to 18) who assist the active members at emergency calls and the Carnival. They also attend training programs to prepare them to become Active Members upon reaching the age of 18.

Associate Members attend meetings, assist with the Carnival and other non-firefighting activities.

Honorary Members are community minded individuals who through their unselfish efforts have dramatically aided the fire company in providing the best possible fire protection for the community's residents and visitors.

The fire company responds to a wide variety of Alarms ranging from structure, vehicle and brush fires to accidents (10-45's), searches, traffic control and evacuations. We don't however rescue cats from trees.

The fire company's coverage area includes the standard residential and commercial buildings in addition to the Pocono Mountain High School - South Campus and the Monsignor McHugh Elementary School. Several of the Pocono's resorts are also within our coverage area, they include: Mt. Airy Resort, Paradise Stream Resort, Pocono Gardens Resort and Strickland's Mountain Inn & Resort.

The Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company works in conjunction with our surrounding fire company's in Monroe County through a long standing mutual Aid

Finally, but certainly not least, is the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary. These community minded women provide additional fund raising efforts as well as assistance with food and drink at large emergency incidents and fires. They are a major part of the Pocono Mountain Carnival responsible for running the Kitchen, along with community volunteers, and provide the homemade delicacies that attract thousands of Carnival goers every year.
